Terms of Service and Club Rules

  • Dogs present in the building must be owned by Janesville-Beloit Kennel Club members or currently registered in a class or participating in a Janesville-Beloit Kennel Club event.

  • All dogs must show proof of vaccinations before starting their class. Required vaccinations include Rabies, DHL, Parvo and Bordatella. Puppies under 4 months are exempt from the Rabies vaccination. It is recommended that dogs have a fecal exam before class.

  • Purebred and All American dogs (mixed breeds) are welcome. We do not allow wolf crosses or hybrids in our classes.

  • If your female comes into season, do NOT bring her to class, but attend yourself and inform the chairperson. Please bathe her before bringing her back to class in about 3 weeks. She can work at home on her homework. A girl in season will not be refunded for missed classes.

  • Classes begin promptly so please be on time.

  • Class fees are non-refundable. In extenuating circumstances a request for a refund can be brought before the board for discussion.

  • Please wear non-skid shoes and appropriate clothing that will not get in the way while you are training your dog.

  • Handlers must he at least 10 years old and MUST be able to control their dog. Only one handler at a time will be allowed on the mats working with each dog.

  • No dog or handler may be substituted for another during the course of the training sessions without the consent of the chairperson and instructor.

  • Spectators are welcome, provided they do not obstruct the class. Disruptive spectators will be asked to leave. Any children brought to the class must be seated off the mats in the seating area and properly supervised. Please bring an activity book or tablet for the child to occupy them during the class if necessary.

  • You are responsible for cleaning up any accident your dog may have, inside and outside. You must deposit waste in the dumpster outside the building. DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON THE GRASS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE PARKING LOT. Anyone caught not following these rules may be charged $5.00 per incident.

  • We recommend that you do not feed your dog prior to class. Exercise your dog before coming to class, to minimize accidents.

  • We prefer treats that do not break up and crumble. Any crumbs left on the floor encourages dogs to sniff and requires extra clean-up. Please use soft treats, tiny treats or precut hotdogs. Your instructor can recommend appropriate treats.

  • Dogs must be kept on leash and/or under control at all times. Dogs that show aggression may be referred to other training facilities. Please watch your dog.

  • NO E-COLLARS, FLEXI-LEADS, ROPES OR CHAIN LEASHES ARE ALLOWED. Properly fitted and used pinch collars, buckle collars, martingale collars, head collars, harnesses, along with 4-6-foot leather or web leashes, are allowed. All equipment will be checked by instructors and chairs.

  • NO harsh punishment is allowed. This includes hitting, kicking, yelling, ear pinching, jerking and other forms of harsh corrections. You may be asked to leave.

  • All chairpersons for all classes will have the final say in enforcing these rules and maintaining the positive atmosphere of our classes. If you have questions or problems, please speak with the trainer or chair after class. You can also Contact Us directly.


Bite Order Policy

  1. If Bite Order on dog, dog would be evaluated by an instructor prior to approval and instructor must evaluate the bite order before dog is registered for class.

  2. Dog owner will be made aware they might be excused from class due to behavior with no money refunded.

  3. If dog with a bite order is in a class, it will wear a yellow indicator on JBKC premises.
